Day One - Plenary Session

Our first day was filled with big ideas and inspiration from GeoConvergence thought leaders from government, industry, academia, and the non-profit sector. It was a genuine pleasure to welcome them to our virtual stage and we hope you enjoy learning from them here as much as we enjoyed having them.

Day Three - Summation

As we convened on Day Three, our own Chairman Dr. Christopher Tucker and President Dr. Marie Price gave a review of what was discussed through our plenary presentations and panel discussions on Day One and through our breakout workshop sessions on Day Two, as the American Geographical Society prepares to report back to the National Science Foundation with all the great feedback and ideas from our participants.

This GeoConvergence Workshop, hosted by the American Geographical Society in support of the National Science Foundation’s Convergence Accelerator, will identify opportunities provided by geospatial science and technology across industries and disciplines to forge collaboration between a diverse, global community of thinkers, innovators, and practitioners. GeoConvergence Workshop participants will be able to identify geospatial solutions to societal and environmental challenges, network with others from a variety of backgrounds, and help define the future of research and development.

The NSF Convergence Accelerator’s mission is to address national-scale societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research. Using a convergence approach, the Accelerator integrates multidisciplinary research and innovation processes to transition basic research and discovery toward impactful solutions. More information about the Convergence Accelerator can be found on the NSF Convergence Accelerator website.
